Camp Whanawhana
Camp Whanawhana’s glistening river rapids sparkled and shone in the
morning sun. When the sun rose above the forest hills a fiery red light
beamed and hit on camp. It felt like dancing on a stage doing a solo with 1
bright light shining on me
.

CAMP WHANAWHANA DESCRIPTION

Amazing light that beamed past the cliff and through the big pine trees. The colourful sunrise looked like a blur of colours all mixed together. The shimmering water flows right past camp Whanawhana. The amazing, wonderful sound of the birds cheeping and the long and wonderful river flowing was like a dream.

River Rafting

Most people would agree that the river rafting is a good opportunity to test your teamwork skills, and a great experience to zoom down the river. As you paddle down can admire the amazing surroundings. You my feel a little cold and tired but carry on. The lovely sound of nature. Excited and puffed you finish but it’s amazing.

How to River Raft

1. Get two big tubes and some rope.
2. With the rope tie the two tubes together so it won’t come undone.
3. Get an adult to check them just encase.
4. Choose your paddle and fasten on your helmet.
5. Walk down the bank and place it in the water.
6. Get the children to get in and the adult to hold it and push you off, and then get them to hop in.

7. Paddle fast, away you go.

Abseiling
The real truth is that abseiling is an awesome experience. Standing at the top scares you, but when you’re half way down you know that all you need to do is keep clambering down. When you’re down you think to yourself “WOW” what an achievement”. You really need to abseil on the real rock cliff, other wise it’s not exhilarating because you know it’s not plastic and smooth with good grip.
How to abseil

1. Put on a helmet and harness.
2. Wait for your turn.
3. Climb up the hill to where you start abseiling.

4. Step down and keep on going down till you reach the ground.
5. Put the Caribbean clipped onto your harness.
